Unlike in the past, golf fans that will be at Monterey for this year’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will experience a much-improved mobile Internet experience from AT&T.
The company has announced major changes to their service delivery that will guarantee fans of fast and reliable connections as they share all the excitement from the links with friends and family. A brief press statement from the company said they are boosting their mobile Internet coverage for the tournament.
That is as part of their continuing investment to support growing demand for wireless devices and services. To achieve that, AT&T is pulling two specialty clubs out of their network tool bag that is AT&T Cell on Wheels (COW) and AT&T WiFi. Together, these two solutions will provide temporary cellular and WiFi service throughout the tournament area.
It will ensure that fans get to share experiences faster and easier. Jeni Bell, the vice president and general manager of AT&T Northern California said they have taken the move to reward their customers who are always loyal. “Our customers deserve the best possible experience at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am as they enjoy a fully connected experience on our network,” Bell said.
“It’s an incredible event each year for the community, made more interactive as our customers check tournament stats, text and share their experience on social media. Having a fast, reliable network is just one way we’re continuing care for our Northern California customers.” The company said it’s well aware that big events like AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am have increased demand for wireless network.
“We prepared by strengthening wireless coverage. We deployed 2 COWs which provide 50% more LTE capacity for customers this year. They’ll improve reliability and data speeds during the tournament for fans in attendance. The COWs will cover the Pebble Beach Golf Course and the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Course”
